Universal
Circuit Breaker Remote Racking System
CBS ArcSafe
universal remote racking systems meet a growing demand for an affordable,
safe alternative to manually racking circuit breakers which reduces the
requirement for service personnel to wear a full-body arc flash hazard suit for
protection.

By permitting the
automatic racking of the circuit breaker from a remote location, the
CBS ArcSafe remote racking systems move service personal outside the arc
flash protection boundary, increasing safety from arc flash hazards
and thus reducing the need for a full-body arc flash hazard suit.
When used in conjunction
with the CBS ArcSafe remote switch
operator, the user can also operate, trip, and close release the
circuit breaker from a safe distance.

The unique design of the CBS
ArcSafe universal remote racking system with its specially manufactured drive
shafts and couplings enable the system to be used with numerous different
types of circuit breakers produced by the major switchgear manufacturers.
It can be used with drawout
types of air, SF6 and vacuum circuit breakers that have either a horizontal
or vertical racking operation.
There are 2 styles of the CBS
ArcSafe remote racking system:

RRS-1, which is used with circuit breakers that require a jack screw
type mechanism for insertion and removal

Model
RRS-2, which is used with circuit breakers that use non-rotary methods
to install and remove the breaker; and thus require an extraction type
mechanism for insertion and removal

The CBS ArcSafe universal remote
racking systems can accommodate a wide variety of low and medium voltage circuit
breaker types from different manufacturers.
